NOTE We have no ratings or reviews because this is the first time we are renting our home. There are only 4 homes on this lake that rent during the year. It is a very special place. Newly renovated inside and out, country farm house sits on a hilltop with 2.5 acres, overlooking a 7 acre swimming lake. It is a 5-minute walk, on a private road , to your dock where you can swim to your hearts content, fish, paddle, etc. Lake is shared with four homes in a community. This community and lake are up a private road. Surrounded by a ridge of small mountains. Unless you live here, no one knows about the lake even though you are minutes from Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Hyde Park, Hudson, Omega Center etc. Also, unlike most other lakes in NY state, there are no car roads on any side of the immediate lake, so the effect is that you are far away from daily life. But if you crave an upscale dinner, movies, gallery, spa, pilates, it is all a 12 minute drive. We are in the town of Rhinebeck. Inside the house is hard wood floors, white walls, golds and warm tones throughout house. A 4 season porch, lets all the sun in but keeps out rain, great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, yoga, writing a novel or taking a nap. Incredible views and incredible light from sunrise to sunset through whole house. Also great stargazing from many different rooms, as well as your own yard to sit in and enjoy watching the shooting stars! Three private bedrooms, in tune upright piano, and a few guitars, living room , dining rooms, one seats 10 the other seats 6, very full service kitchen. Views of lake and forest out living room, dining room, kitchen and views of forest and our barn out all other windows in home. Located on a private road, this is a safe, quiet, glorious location. Deer, wild turkeys out your window. Crickets, frogs, eagles and geese around the lake. Outside the house are two yards. One sits in front over looking that lake, though in summer it is hard to see only cause of the amazing trees. The other outdoor space for BBQ, dinner or drinks is on the south west side of house. Home is on it's own 2.3 acres. Lake- Private swimming dock, no motorboats, second cleanest lake in NY State, Spring fed lake, glacier lake, canoe and paddleboard available. Water is warm enough for evening moon swims or rows starting mid July. Day swims start mid June. Note alot of lake homes do not have water that has been cleared of lily ponds. This has.
