Around 60 miles to the North, you will find the Beautiful Villanueva Village with the Pecos river running through it. There are great camp spots for over night, or a short day trip for fishing.
We 148 miles West to the beautiful El Moro National Monument, with its inviting water fall and Inscription Rock with story beginning as long ago as April 16, 1605 with the inscription left by Juan de Onate the first Spanish Governor of Santa Fe de Nuevo Mexico. And of course there is Carlsbad, that is an experience no one should miss, and while on your way there, stop in at Roswell and visit with the Aliens for a bit.
