Cozy cottage on the boardwalk of Halibut Cove, with private deck, hot tub, and amazing views of the sheltered cove and surrounding mountains. We call our cottage "The Floater" because it originally was cannery in Bear Cove and it was floated to Halibut Cove after the 1964 earthquake. The cottage is centrally located on the boardwalk between the coffee shop and the Halibut Cove Experience Art Gallery, and just a 5 minute walk to the Saltry Restaurant. This part of Halibut Cove is all privately owned and operated, so it won't be overwhelmed with lots of visitors. We operate our own fully licensed and insured water taxi to pick you up in Homer and return you after your stay. The cost for the water taxi is $95/person/RT and is listed as "water" and "additional person" fee. If you have your own private boat we will make arrangements for you to park your boat on our boat float which you can view from the cottage, and we will adjust the water and additional person fees accordingly.
From the deck you can watch the local activities, fish, or simply sit back and enjoy the sights. Walking trails are closely located just outside the fence, so you can explore the back property trails, the ARCH overlook, walk the boardwalks or hang out at the coffee shop. The Saltry Restaurant is a 5 minute walk from the Floater, and the Isthmus beach is less than 10 minutes away, for tide pooling, beach fishing or soaking up sun. Some people even dare to SWIM!!
The Cottage is cozy but has wonderful views of the Cove. There is a king size bed in the larger bedroom, with a drop down smart TV, ample storage and a small deck. In the open loft bedroom there is a queen size bed and small settee, and space for a roll out sleeping pad if needed.
The downstairs living area is comprised of an open kitchen, dining and small sitting area. A hallway joins the living area, and connects to the bathroom which has a flush toilet, bidet and large jetted tub with shower. Washer and Dryer are enclosed in 2 separate closeted spaces.
