2 Bedroom Cabin in Ely
Our home is on Shagawa Lake across from the town of Ely. Steps go down to the lake with deck and dock to relax by the water in a secluded bay, great for viewing loons, eagles, beavers, otters and lots of other wildlife. Enjoy a good sweat in the wood fired sauna and then swim off the dock. It's an easy paddle to explore a group of islands just outside our bay. This house has two bedrooms plus an open loft. There is a jetted Jacuzzi tub in the main bath, and a pool table in the basement which walks out to the patio looking over lake. There are two kayaks and a large canoe for guests to enjoy. **A new dock was installed August 2022!**
It is less than a ten minute drive to town. Multiple hiking areas are near the property, and BWCA entry points are close by as well.
Shagawa Lake boasts great fishing and recreation. Semers park has a public beach, picnic shelter, and trails directly across the lake. There are several resort lodges on Shagawa, two with restaurants, and fishing boat and pontoon boat rentals are also available right on the lake.
The cabin works great for a cozy spot to base your snowmobile or cross country skiing adventures. We have two pairs of snowshoes you are free to use. Giants Ridge ski resort is 45 minute drive.
