The Park Place Fish House has been a labor of love. It was developed out of the need for families and friends traveling together for the trip of a lifetime. The perfect relaxing retreat, where you can gather around the dining room table, sharing a meal, playing board games and/or share memories under the stars with a campfire, roasting marshmallows and plan your next day excursions. If you would like to stretch your legs, enjoy a relaxing stroll around the walking path of the beautiful adjacent Rotary Park and duck pond.
The Park Place Fish House is located near the lush Tongass National Forest, Auke Lake, Auke Bay, and the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. Our home is within walking distance of shopping, coffee, local bars, restaurants and the Diamond Park Aquatic Center. We are adjacent to the beautiful, family friendly public city park, Rotary Park that has a covered picnic Pavilion, children’s playground, with a large pond that has a walking path around it. Perfect for a morning or evening stroll. Your views from the park are picturesque of the surrounding mountains in the distance the Mendenhall Towers, (the mountains surrounding the Mendenhall Glacier), approximately 3 miles away and Thunder Mountain. Also available is Uber, Lyft, Turo or by a local car rental at the airport, and we are next to the bus line.
Park Place Fish House is furnished with many useful amenities such as a private entrance, and access to wireless internet for guests who want to unwind after exploring the area (or weathering the weather). Also includes reading material, games, laundry detergent, dish soap, trash bags, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The kitchen is ready for use with pots, pans, utensils, a Ninja Coffee maker that makes individual cups of coffee as well as a Carafe, a microwave, 4 slice toaster, etc. Stocked with some spices, coffee, tea, creamer, and some essential treats. Everything we think will make your stay comfortable is available.
The living/dining and kitchen area have an open floor plan. For those having an extended stay there is on-site laundry. There is a large TV in the living room and one smaller TV in the larger of the upstairs bedrooms, and parking. The main floor master bedroom boasts a beautiful luxury queen-sized bed, with exceptional bedding and mattress, with a private full bathroom. A perfect hideaway for an anniversary or as a bridal suite.
There are 2 upstairs bedrooms. One has a queen size bed with luxury bedding, the ultimate in luxury a mattress, a Beauty Rest Black Pillowtop Plush Mattress, we call this the Bear Room, a shared lovely bath is located in the hallway between the 2 bedrooms. The other bedroom we call the bunk room, has 2 sets of bunk beds with trundle mattresses under each of the bunk beds, for a total of 6 mattresses. Our home can accommodate up to 10 people. The mattresses on the bunk beds are innerspring mattresses, with a memory foam top, perfect even for teens and/or adults. Our home is equipped with a Heat Pump, perfect for those very warm summer days, our home is cool and comfortable.
In the event you are traveling with an infant or young toddler, upon request we have a portable crib (Pak n Play) and a booster seat for an infant/toddler to sit in while eating.
The outdoor living space provides a relaxed environment for your stay. Enjoy your morning coffee/tea under the covered patio, sit around the fire pit (we do provide wood for the fire) and recharge in the afternoon after your day of exploring. We provide a smoking area under the covered patio.
Self-check-in is hassle-free with a lockbox.
