"Rustic" setting. 3 levels -- 1st floor is a garage conversion with raw-concrete floor, 2rd floor living area has 13-foot vaulted-ceiling with skylights, and 3rd floor attic loft bedroom.
Kitchen on 2nd floor, plus a BBQ-prep pantry on 1st floor by the wood deck.
High-efficiency central heat and a/c -- you may adjust the thermostat to your preference.
WALK OR BIKE out your front door and you are only a few blocks away from Lake Michigan. (We provide 2 mountain bikes):
a) TURN LEFT pass Nelson Algren's cottage. When the road ends, there is a paving walking/biking trail which leads to the beautifully renovated Marquette Park. There is a looping bike path, along the road in the park. The park connects to Lake Michigan and beach -- sunsets, view of Chicago skyline and Steel Mill across the lake, and wild natural sand dunes. While in the park, you might also want to checkout the national registered Aquatorium Bathhouse, and the Marquette Park Pavilion designed by George Maher with Prairie School architecture.
b) Or TURN RIGHT, and turn right again at the corner to cross the bridge to Lake Street Beach.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS (DRIVE): West Beach and hiking trail (10 mins). Mt Baldy (25 mins). Lighthouse Outlets In Michigan City (30 mins). Billy Boy's Blueberry Farm (35 mins). Recommend driving on route 12 instead of highway. It is especially scenic in Spring and Autumn and there are points of interest along the way. Numerous local breweries in the area. 18th Street Brewery on Lake street is just a few mins drive. Shoreline Brewery & Restaurant is next to the Lighthouse outlets.

NOTE:
1) The cottage will be private to your group. You will have an access to 3 levels of the house. This includes 5 guest bedrooms and all common areas. However, no access to host bedroom on 2nd floor which will be locked.
2) We have a GREAT wood deck on the water -- nice spot for a dinner BBQ. Plus a small lower deck that is so close to fishes and water lilies.. There is also a 125" projector screen on 1st floor that is set up for Netflix movie at nights. However, the house is not that big. Please let the host know roughly your entertainment plans and composition of your group, so we can prepare seating to accommodate.
