We are nestled on the peaceful lakefront of Rushford lake in beautiful Alleghany county NY. If you're looking for peace, quiet, and the serenity of the great outdoors, this is your place! There are two outdoor decks for enjoying meals and relaxing. Our lake house has 100ft of lake front, a private dock perfect for tying up your boat, a large lawn for outdoor activities, great fishing, and a fire pit for your evening enjoyment.There is a canoe and a kayak available for guest use. For day trips, letchworth state park is 40 miles away, Niagra Falls 79 miles, Historical Angelica Ny 18 miles, Wiscoy falls is 17 miles, The tranquil Moss Lake and the Genesse valley river are nearby. For cheese lovers Cuba cheese Cuba NY. And my favorite local farmers fresh produce is just down the road.
The cottage has a full kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals and there is also an outdoor grill. There are two twin beds, one full size bed, one queen bed, and one queen futon. The beds are provided with quilts and extra blankets, however guests are required to bring their own linens and towels.
HOUSE MANUAL
Hello and welcome to our cottage! A few things to know to make your stay more enjoyable. The switch for the outdoor light is located behind the blue corner cabinet in kitchen back right and for the small deck light, back left of cabinet. The controls for ceiling fans and light are on kitchen wall behind dish drying rack. Be careful when using the kitchen stove the burners cook very hot, especially the front right. The paddles for kayak and canoe are in the cottage hanging on wall above sliding doors in kitchen and on beam next to the stairs and bathroom. Cushions are provided for your use on outdoor furniture, please tie the nautical ones onto the furniture on the dock or they will blow into the lake, please bring in if raining and at the end of your stay. The hammock gets hung between two trees at bottom of steps to the left, please also bring in if raining. There are dishtowels for your use please leave dirty ones on kitchen counter when you leave. If it gets cold and you need the propane heater the switch is on the back right, just switch on. Please make sure all garbage is tied up securely and put in garbage bins with lids on tight so critters cant get to it. The water at our cottage is sulfur water, it is safe to use and we do provide a 5 gallon water cooler however you may want to bring more drinking water. There is enough room for parking 3 vehicles in the driveway, please absolutely no parking on the lakefront property. Thank you and we hope you have a wonderful stay. Enjoy the lake
