Designed by noted architect Patrick Ahearn, the deluxe compound sits up on a knoll on the southern end of the Village, and enjoys distant water views of Edgartown Harbor. There is a 5-Bedroom, 5.5-Bath Main House, plus a separate 1-Bedroom, 1-Bath Carriage House Suite by the pool. The first floor of the Main House features a formal Living Room with brick fireplace and seating. It connects to an open, fully equipped Bar Area with stools and wet bar. French doors open out to the wraparound porch.
There is also a separate formal Dining Room, and then a dramatic open space with Chef Kitchen, casual Dining Area, and large Lounge Area with fireplace, TV, sofa and chair seating. Several sets of French doors and windows wrap the room in light, and a stunning octagonal opening in the ceiling looks up to the second floor. The Cook's Kitchen has large center prep island/breakfast bar, mahogany counters throughout, farm sink, commercial stainless and cabinet-fronted appliances, plus a separate Butler's Pantry with second dishwasher, coffee station, sink, and wine refrigerator.
The space opens out to the large wraparound covered porch with brick floor, outdoor Living Area with fireplace. Stairs lead down to another outdoor level with bluestone patio, outdoor Dining Area and outdoor Kitchen.
Heading up to the second floor, you find the room that looks down thru the Octagon opening. It features a vaulted ceiling and multiple sets of French doors that open to three decks that all enjoy Edgartown Harbor and Lighthouse views. The Primary Bedroom and two of the other Bedrooms are on this floor as well. The Primary and Bedroom #2 open to those water view decks as well. The entire third floor is its own deluxe suite, with two sleeping areas -- one with day bed trundle and the other with King bed, plus private bathroom. A set of French doors at the stair landing opens to another deck with sweeping Harbor and Lighthouse views.
The Lower walkout level houses the fifth Bedroom with its double bunk beds and Jack and Jill Bathroom. There is also a Home Theater / Game Room with large-screen projection TV, seating, game table, and fireplace, plus a Workout Room with treadmill, elliptical, weights, TV, and the Laundry Room.
The Main House connects to the separate Carriage House via stone steps and several terraced lawn areas, passing the outdoor Kitchen and outdoor Dining Areas. The Carriage House suite is above the garage. It has vaulted ceiling, private deck that looks out over the Pool Area and out to the Harbor. There is an en suite bath plus a Kitchenette Area with microwave and coffee maker.
The Pool itself is a heated 15 by 35-foot gunite pool with built-in spa. The stone patio surround offers sunning area, plus there is an outdoor shower and half bath.
All of downtown Edgartown with its restaurants, shops, and harbor are a short bike ride or stroll away. The bike path is nearby.
