Positive: Large property and location.

Negative: House was not presented as advertised. The house was advertised with a patio and barbecue, when we arrived there was no barbecue and no patio furniture. A patio without patio furniture is not much use. We specifically booked the property for the barbecue facilities and arrived with provisions for barbecue. Instead of self-catering we ended up dining out. We made contact with the owner, who said the problem lay with her maintenance company and she offered a refund of 20%, which we accepted. Now enter Evolve, the booking agency. Evolve, demanded evidence of this agreement and refused to honour the owner’s commitment unless we could produce evidence. At every turn Evolve introduced obstacles to resolving the situation. Beware if booking with Evolve. Now the problem for us was, we believed we made our booking through Booking.com but we ended up with Evolve? In the end it was impossible to know who we were dealing with, Booking or Evolve. It is not immediately apparent on the Booking.com screen that they are representing another agency. On the same trip, our travelling companions also made a booking with Booking.com that ended up with Expedia. They also had problems with the booking. If this continues we will book directly with the hotel and avoid booking sites altogether. There
