Summary: I've stayed at almost every no-frills motel in Eau Claire (I live in the Northwoods and do my stock up shopping in EC), and this one was the best. Perfect...no. It needs some work, but you can see the effort they are putting into it. Live plants inside, landscaping, clean, quiet. I watched one of the staff outside weeding and caring for flowers, and for the indoor plants which had been brought out, and it was clear the pride the motel takes in it's appearance.
I stayed on the hottest day of the year and the AC was amazing! I loved that my dog was able to stay with me, no fuss at all. I didn't ask much of staff, but they were swift to respond.
If you are looking for a manned front desk to cater to your needs, free breakfast, and a pool, this place isn't for you (but if you were looking for that you probably shouldn't be looking at economy lodging). However the, if you're looking for somewhere clean, quiet, safe, and unbelievably cheap, you've hit the jackpot!

Summary: Front desk difficult to understand. Exit door on first floor not locked. No ice or other vending. Halls had strange smell. Ok for the money I guess.

Summary: The room was quite clean, the bed was so comfortable that even my arthritic back was happy with it. The owner/operators were very polite and helpful.
They took a $50 deposit, and I can understand why. The place looks like it’s been badly neglected for a long time; I hope it’s in the possession of a family intent on fixing it up, and if that’s the case, I can see some progress.
When I arrived the place was nearly empty, and those people who were there had the look of people far, far down on their luck. The deposit makes sense in light of the sort of damaged that might happen with people struggling with many issues. I did get my deposit back, of course.
The room was in decent shape, functionally. There was a strip of decorative wall-tile torn off from around the sink, there were scratches on a number of places on the paint, and several more significant gouges into the wall (see above, types of residents).
I wasn’t pleased with the door lock or condition of the door itself, but had no problems with security; it just didn’t look all that sturdy.
If this place was purchased recently, then it looks to me like they’re working on improving it. If it’s 2026 and someone reads this, tries the place out, and it still looks just as beat-up, that’s another matter. I wish them luck.

Summary: There were a lot of old mattresses piled outside so I was hopeful for a good nights sleep. Unfortunately I was not one of the lucky ones and the metal springs were visible through the mattress.

Summary: when things were not as I expected, staff was eager to bring my stay up to the level I anticipated. the response to my discrepancy was quick and made my stay comfortable and kind. like always I enjoyed my stay to the highest extent possible.
