Welcome to the Cottage at Sundog Homestead!
You will be staying in a one-bedroom loft cottage on a 7-acre hobby farm with lots of wildlife. The cottage is separate but the main house (where we live) is yards across from it. There is ample parking on the property.
The kitchenette has a multifunction air fryer, microwave, toaster, dual brew coffee maker, and a fridge. There is no stove but an electric skillet to cook with. A grill (charcoal and gas) is at your disposition for year-round BBQ. There is a counter top water dispenser with hot and cold water.
The bedroom is up a staircase on the loft level. Be advised that the loft has a low ceiling and may be inconvenient for people over 6 ft. The stairs are steep which could be a problem for people with mobility issues. We have had guests who chose to sleep on the sofa (1 person).
It does get hot upstairs in the summer, there is a portable AC and a fan to cool off. For negative degree winters, there's an extra small heater.
The house has a septic system, please no wipes or sanitary products can be flushed. Thank you.
There is plenty of space on the property for your furry friend to explore and run around, no need to keep on a leash! We ask that puppies be crated when left unattended in the cottage.
We have 2 barn cats that roam around. We have 4 roosters, 28 chickens that range freely during the day in our backyard. When available, we sell farm fresh free range eggs for $5 a dozen or $3/half a dozen, please inquire if you would like some during your stay.

Pay-as-you-go fee of $15 per day of use. Firewood is available on-site. This option and payment methods are provided upon check-in.
NOTE FOR THE WINTER:
The spa amenities are open during the winter. However, we’ve discovered that in freezing temperature, the electric sauna may not work requiring a reset, which involves reheating the sauna with an external heater. This process can take some time, maybe a few hours.
On the bright side, our hot tub is wood-fired and operates perfectly regardless of the temperature. it just requires some patience since the fire needs to be fed regularly and it can take up to 4 hours to reach above 100 degrees.
