Fantastic 3 Season Rental on Island Lake just northeast of Winter, WI and approximately 30 minutes east of Hayward, WI. (Before we go on, you are strongly encouraged to buy Travel Insurance, as you never know what can come up. This is direct from the VRBO website: Visit www.vacationprotection.com to buy a travel insurance plan. All of our plans include 24/7 Travel Support while traveling.) Almost everything is here at the cabin - dishes, full size fridge, coffee maker, toaster over, full bathroom, TV, VCR, DVD player, tons of movies and games. All you need to bring are your food & clothes. For the lake, included are: rowboat, paddle boat, 2 kayaks, canoe, fishing equipment, life jackets, etc. If there is something else you'd like (or the pontoon is already reserved by the neighbor cabin) M&M Rentals in Hayward (715-634-3146)is just a short trip away and has all sorts of recreation items to rent. There is a pontoon for rent for $50/day. NOTE: Please reserve the pontoon when you book your stay, as it is shared with the adjacent cabin on a first reserved - first served basis. Have a big group? The Golfer can enjoy some of the award winning golf courses in the Hayward/Cable/Winter area...Historic Barker Lake Lodge/Golf is a short drive away. For some solace you can spend the day on the water by kayaking, tubing or canoeing down the Chippewa River from the Winter Dam to the Ojibwa Inn. It is a wonderful way to spend time with this leisurely 8 mile trip which has some of the nicest scenery in the world and a good place to watch some Bald Eagles at play. Have all the privacy of a small quaint lake with the flexibility to spend the day in Hayward or Cable and do some shopping, golfing, or dining. PLUS there's plenty of firewood included (but bring your own paper/newspaper/whatever to start the fire) PS A note on the "cancellation rate" for this property........End of October 2019 was unusually cold, dipping into the low 20's, which would have burst all the plumbing and left the guests with no water. Thus, we cancelled. They found a hotel without problem. Otherwise, I have not cancelled anyone.
