Built in the 1960s, this historic lake home was designed by Ken Krantz in his Inter-Arts Studio and features a cathedral ceiling, beautiful aged pine paneling, antiques and multiple areas to play games, read or simply watch the sunset through the trees. Located near the intersection of M-22 and County Road 641, Leland is 3.3 miles away, Northport is 8.5 miles, and Lake Leelanau is 6 miles. A bike ride around the lake is 14.5 miles with stops in Leland and Lake Leelanau.
Southwestern facing, the home sits back from the water across North Lake Leelanau Drive and includes nearly 400' of prime lake frontage, a private dock and a sandy lake bottom. Children can play in nearby Houdek Creek, walk in the woods, swim, and skip rocks from the shore. Wake up to a mirror calm view of the lake, enjoy your coffee, and plan your day.
There are four bedrooms. The Master suite is upstairs and includes a queen bed and private bathroom with shower. Downstairs, the front bedroom has a new double bed. The two back bedrooms are great for sleeping, one with two single beds (both new) and the second with a queen bed. The living room includes a pull out sofa bed. For hot summer days, two portable air conditioners easily keep summer weather at bay, the large ceiling fan in the living room helps move warm and cool air around depending on the season. The house was completely rewired, painted, and new lighting added throughout in 2018. Several new appliances were purchased for the kitchen and a new high capacity washing machine added to the wash room.
Designed to be lived in, the kitchen is well equipped for cooking and entertaining, with all the conveniences of home. For grilling outdoors there is a new Weber charcoal grill. The dining room can be set up for formal or casual meals and will comfortably seat eight. The living room has a mix of comfortable modern and arts & crafts furniture, family antiques, and an original Berea Kentucky Skittles game for all ages to play ( A 60" Roku TV and broadband internet allow access to the internet, Netflix, Amazon Prime and other programs. Children will enjoy learning how to play cards and all the old boardgames, including Monopoly, Risk, Sorry, Battleship, Scrabble and several others. The house was designed around the field stone fireplace and white pine mantelpiece, cut and hewn on the property by the original owner.
The living room opens to a view through the forest of Lake Leelanau that is unrivaled from early morning to sunset. A large porch with Adirondack chairs and lanterns is located off the living room and makes cocktail hour a time to disconnect from life's distractions. Outdoors there is ample parking and storage, bring your boat and have space to drop the trailer.

Located a half mile south, East Leland Park features a free and accessible boat ramp where you can quickly put your boat in the water and and bring it back to the dock during your stay. For those who want to walk in the morning, there is little traffic on County Road 641 and unparalleled views west over Lake Leelanau. The north end of Lake Leelanau features some of the finest bass, walleye, pike and perch fishing in Northern Michigan.
