Summary: This was a great property with a picture perfect view. We traveled here for my college graduation. We had no issues upon arrival other than the tv remotes not working and the downstairs door is still not able to lock, which appears to be an issue in a previous review. However, the downstairs bathroom began overflowing raw sewage one day into our stay. We placed towels down and contacted the host who within 30mins replied with a plumber would be out first thing in the morning. The following morning we avoided using that bathroom, but due to gravity and using the upstairs bathroom it began overflowing worse and the sewage began to flow throughout the entire downstairs. It got to the point that it had reached the stairs on the others side of the house. The smell was indescribable and was coming up through the vents. We decided it was unsafe for us to be in the house so we left for the day for the plumber to solve the issue. The host said a plumber was called. I asked about an update the host never responded. We returned to the property at 5 and still not plumber was there and the host never responded. We then contacted VRBO directly who was able to call the host and only then did he respond with “a plumber is still coming”. 20 mins later the host backtracked and said a plumber wasn’t needed it was electrical. The host went in circles solving the and refused to refund us for more than 50% even though we had to evacuate 12 hours before graduation. Very disappointed.
