Positive: The cabin was absolutely beautiful, clean, roomy and comfortable. The grounds were very well kept. The amenities offered were great. My family and I were in need of nothing. Everything was supplied for us (including the firewood for the pit). Use of the washer and dryer was incredibly convenient and appreciated.

Negative: This was my first time using Booking.com. When renting from other providers, I've always been able to communicate with the property owner if I ever had any questions or concerns. For this rental, I was given a phone number and email for the staff that cleans the unit, and they did not know much about the property. Responses were delayed because, needless to say, they probably had to reach out to the owner to get answers to my questions. We were unable to use the front door to access the front outdoor patio because the door latch on the storm door was broken. When I reported it, we never got a reply. We were forced to go down to the basement, exit the back door and walk around the cabin to the front. It was an inconvenience. If future guests rent the unit in the winter, you will not have any problems with heating controls, BUT a summer renter will have a problem staying cool on the second floor because there is no AC. There are 2 of 3 bedrooms (the bigger bedrooms) on the second floor. We were only provided 1 floor fan for the entire second floor, and after reporting it, we received no reply. Lastly, on our first night, we experienced numerous power surges to the cabin. We were left in the dark several times and had to reset tvs, clocks and appliances. I reported it to the cleaning crew who replied that a nearby transformer had failed and it was just something I had to deal with. I realize this is not the owners fault, but we should have been warned or advised or given candles or flashlights. Bottom line, the owner should make him or herself available for troubleshooting issues and concerns regarding the property.
