Purple amethyst is inlaid in the bedroom walls and the curious can explore Frodo’s belongings. The underground whimsical hobbit house is a quiet & cool converted root cellar with no disturbing wifi. The lovely Garden Apt a short way across the courtyard, is delightful in its own right. Relax in another world & enjoy a break from reality! The kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishes and silverware. We hope you find all you need to create any culinary delight. The water in the kitchen sink takes quite a while to heat up. If convenient, you can run it into a pot and throw it on a plant outside. Both bedrooms have comfy king beds. The Taos day bed has a twin mattress on it. You will find linens for that in the cabinet next to the bed. Outside, we do keep the last summer's growth uncut until Spring to ensure the beneficial insects have a place for themselves and their eggs to over-winter. Thank you for accommodating them. Also, you could see a snake. We haven't seen any rattlers but be conscious that the high desert is their territory. The two types we do see are Bull Snakes and Red Racers. They are good at keeping the rodent population down so please let them be. You are invited to enjoy this refuge from the stress and uncertainty of the outside world. We take every attention to make sure this space is extremely clean and safe for your visit. Don't like to cook? No problem! Cafe Fina is a hop away and their food is very yummy! There are other restaurants and cafes over by the Agora and La Tienda which offer tempting foods for your palate. The Agora also has a full grocery so everything needed is about a minute by car. Eldorado has walking trails besides the major roads throughout the community. You will also find the Eldorado Wilderness for miles of hiking trails if you go behind the gas station that you will see when you take a left at the light (away from I-25) or you can walk behind the General Dollar up to the top of the large mounded mountain outside the kitchen window. The garden apartment is beneath the living room of the home upstairs. I ask the guests who are staying upstairs to adhere to quiet hours after 10 PM. There is a noise machine and earplugs to help you sleep. The hobbit house will be silent since it is underground. Also, please bring your own pillow. We have pillows provided but think it is better that everyone brings their own. Also, the artifacts in the hobbit house are there for careful inspection but those with little fingers should be supervised because there are a few sharp antique tools. This property is 15 minutes from everything Santa Fe has to offer.
