A great retreat, this cozy, light-filled home is surrounded by hills and trees, a big back deck, great views, a large yard, and is less than a mile from the iconic Montague Bookmill.
This is one of two unattached and very private units on an acre of scenic country land. It is a nature-lover's (and bird watcher's) paradise!
Has wide-board pine floors, and an open plan layout that includes a kitchen with a breakfast bar, dining room that seats four to six comfortably, large south-facing windows in the living room area, and 2 corner bedrooms upstairs, each with a king-size bed. There's also garden space with blackberries in season. At approximately 1000 square feet, there is space for all the important things (eat, sleep, shower or bathe, work on the computer, dance...)
There are lots of extras here -- there's clean, clear well water from the taps, a garage space (for parking) with a garage door opener (meaning you won't have to get out in the rain). And, there's on-site access to a washing machine and a line for drying clothes outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine.
Nearby are hiking and cross-country ski trails, streams for fishing, a river for boating, and low-traffic biking roads.
Located 15 to 20 minutes from Route 91 or Route 2, UMass, Greenfield, Deerfield, and other area schools; 30 minutes from Northampton and Shelburne Falls. There are so many wonderful festivals, galleries, farm stands, and cultural events in this area, and you will have access to them all!
This is my home that I rent while traveling. It is ideal for a low-key, non-smoking people looking for a peaceful, homey oasis in a hectic schedule.
Please note I am still getting this set up -- furnishings look slightly different than in the pictures, and there are now king-size beds in both bedrooms. Linens and towels can be provided on request -- please inquire.
Also, do please note that there is no smoking of anything by anyone anywhere on the property. If you are a smoker, please pass this by! And because these are soft-pine floors, I'm sorry but I can't allow pets. Finally, because I'm chemically sensitive, I'll ask that you use only unscented or fragrance-free lotions, shampoos, conditions, soaps, etc and no perfumes, plug-ins, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to ask -- I know this doesn't make sense to everyone, but it makes a big difference to me.
