The 1,052-square-foot adobe dwelling itself is nestled in a beautifully landscaped slice of the creek valley, just down the ridge line from the D.H. Lawrence Ranch, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Surrounded by sage brush and wildflowers in the spring and summer and snow pack in winter, Spotted Owl is an artfully appointed getaway for a couple or two wanting to drink in the ambiance of northern New Mexico in any season.

Each of the two bedrooms and baths, located on either side of the common area, includes a top quality king sized bed with all cotton sheets as well as cozy down comforters. Off of the southern patio, a courtyard has a two- person hot tub to soothe aching muscles and, on a clear night, offers a planetarium-like view of the starry sky, undiminished by the city lights of Taos.
