Just about an hour from Portland and minutes north of Longview, this relaxing lake front cabin is an easy escape from city noise without the long drive. Escape to a distinctive lakeside cedar cabin on Silver Lake, along the scenic route to Mount St. Helens. Built in the 1940s from reclaimed schoolhouse lumber, this 740 sq ft retreat blends rustic character with vintage charm. Enjoy two cozy bedrooms, a full bath, a hot tub, fire pit, and private dock with your own lake access. Perfect for quiet getaways, fishing, hunting, and exploring trails for hiking, biking, and kayaking. Located in a peaceful private neighborhood on a dead-end road.
There are two bedrooms in the cabin. One featuring a queen size bed and the other a full size bed, both have plush comfy bedding. The bedrooms are on the smaller size so there is no extra room to fit items such as a crib. The living room is furnished with a full size plush sectional and papasan chair with a perfect view out the large front window looking out on the lake. The cabin was designed with comfort and luxury in mind to make the space feel like a real retreat from the rest of the world.
We have happily taken care of all of the essentials and some of the luxuries- all you need to bring is yourself! Enjoy a spa like bathroom with rainfall shower head, and fully equipped kitchen with dining table and well stocked cabinets. The laundry room/mud room features a full size washer and dryer as well as a boot dryer for your convenience.

Located on Silver Lake on your way up Spirit Lake Highway, a unique scenic route leading you to Mount Saint Helens, just 60 minutes North of Portland. The cabin is located in a very small lake neighborhood, with neighbors nearby. Amenities such as gas stations, grocery stores, and coffee shops are located about 10-15 minutes away in either direction on Spirit Lake Highway. Local restaurants can be found in Castle Rock, about 15 min West on Spirit Lake Highway. Please note there are no amenities located east bound up the Highway past Drews, a local grocer, in Toutle Lake.

* Neighborhood: The cabin is located in a very small peaceful residential community with neighbors on either side. The property is fenced on one side and thick trees and woods on the other for privacy. PLEASE BE ADVISED THE CABIN IS NOT REMOTE.
* Space: Space is limited in the cabin so we ask, please, no additional guests.
* Hot tub & Fire Pit: Enjoy responsibly and at your own risk.
* Children: The cabin is NOT childproof, and children must be supervised at all times. Children under 13 are not permitted in the hot tub.
* Silver Lake: Fishing, and water sports are allowed on the lake. Kayaks are available (life jackets are required) as well as assorted fishing gear. A Washington State Fishing License is required for all fishing on the lake.
* Mt Saint Helens: The mountain is open year round, weather permitting. Spirit Lake Highway is currently not open past Milepost 45 due to a landslide. Many spots below the closure still remain open including Coldwater Lake, Mt St Helens Interpretive Center and various access spots to Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
*Nature: Silver Lake is a thriving ecosystem you could see deer, bald eagles, otters, squirrels and chipmunks. In the warmer months you'll often see bats flying after sunset. They are great for controlling the bugs like mosquitoes.
