The house combines stunning Scandinavian design with cozy touches to make you feel at home in the woods. The property features a detached sauna house, dock, canoe, kayak, deck, screen porch, and a long sweeping driveway. Located in Lutsen, MN- a short drive from the ski hill and 20 minutes from Grand Marais. The house has heated floors, vaulted ceilings, and sweeping window views from all sides.
This home has comfortable beds and three walk-in showers. It features natural stone, and North woods art from local artists, along with soaring hand-finished columns of cedar, fir, and pine that make the house feel like part of the forest. The floor to ceiling windows (over 75 in all) bring the outside in and showcase the natural beauty of the North Shore. We share the spot with a playful fox, a pair of loons, and other wonderful species of native wildlife. In the summer, the property is scattered with wildflowers and lupine as well as raspberries, blueberries, and thimble berries. We are located on a bend in the lake: paddle left to tour the quiet bay, cattails, and a beaver dam; right will take you out to the largest portions of Caribou lake. A perfect escape for a weekend away or a special occasion.
