The cabin is a green home with uncompromising beauty and energy efficiency. It has a prefabricated round-timber frame and pallet-wall system. The living/dining/kitchen area has a 14’ high ceiling, with dramatic branching timber columns and beams. White oak slab tables and counters add timeless beauty. The custom red oak stairs and railing with buckthorn stiles flows up to the bedroom/loft. The house’s gently curving roof opens up to the south to maximize winter solar heat.
Tusen Takk has one bedroom & a loft with beds for 4 - 6 adults (queen bed, queen sofa bed, full size bed and a twin size futon).
There is a fully furnished kitchen, laundry (washer/dryer), shower, and wood stove fireplace to keep you well feed, clean and warm!
The open design makes heating very easy, with in-floor heating and the wood stove you will be nice and warm. During the summer months there is a window air-conditioning unit that helps keep it cool and comfortable.
For entertainment there is a book & DVD library, board games, TV (no cable) and wireless internet.
Venturing outside? Enjoy the fire pit, covered porch area, or explore one of the several maintained trails.
