Summary: Feels like a big tree house. I stayed with my four teen/adult children and it was a comfortable size for us, with two in the first-floor bedroom, two in the loft, and one in the basement bedroom. Cute, clean kitchen, roomy bathroom with a good shower, gorgeous main living space. Nice selection of game options indoors as well as outdoors (we loved the big tree swing and archery, had fun trying the zip line but it needs repair). So many lovely little rooms and spaces to sit and relax both inside and outside the house. We enjoyed the fire pit, and there's also a grill that we didn't use. I suggest bringing matches - there was a lighter that worked, but just in case. There are also telescoping smores sticks you can use for roasting marshmallows, which is a nice touch. We didn't see a bear while we were there, although a trash can was knocked over during the night. But be bear-smart. Also if you have young kids, be very careful on all the stepping stones around the house, some are wobbly. And be aware that if you are a larger person or if you have mobility or balance issues, you may have difficulty on the very narrow staircase without a rail that leads from the basement to the main level. It's about half a mile to the lake, where visitors can go boating but apparently not swimming. Lovely drive around anyway. Easy drive to town for food etc. We loved our little vacation at the cabin and would definitely return for another visit!
